ICSIIT 2015

ICSIIT 2015 - the "International Conference on Soft Computing, Intelligence Systems, and Information Technology" - will be the fourth conference in a series that provides the key forum for researchers and practitioners in the field of software computing and computational intelligence. This year, the conference will be held in Bali, Indonesia on March, 11-14 2015. Its main theme is "Intelligence in the Era of Big Data" and it will be hosted by the Informatics Department, Petra Christian University.

Since the early 1990s, Soft Computing has become a formal area of research in Computer Science. It covers computational techniques in machine learning, computer science and engineering disciplines, which investigate, simulate, and analyze very complex issues and phenomena. Unlike conventional (hard) computing scheme, soft computing deals with imprecision, uncertainty, partial truth, and approximation to achieve practicability, robustness and low solution cost. Usually, these kinds of problems originate in the human mind with all its doubts, subjectivity and emotions.

Recent trend in big data phenomenon and the emerging fourth paradigm in computing - the data-intensive science discovery - accelerate the research interest and momentum of Soft Computing. With the 4 Vs (volume, velocity, variety, and veracity) of big data from sensor network and internet of things, intelligent systems are now being challenged with new data description models and management tasks for data integration, transformation, visualization, querying and real-time analysis. Cognitive computing adds another level of potentials, by emphasizing on the role of human mind.

All accepted papers will be included in proceedings published by Springer in the CCIS series which is indexed by DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, and Scopus.
